ATLANTA- Oglethorpe freshman standout Zeno Goss finished sixth in the 800 and led the Petrels to a top finish this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Samford Open invitational. As a result, Goss has been named Southern Athletic Association athlete of the week.

Goss blazed to a 1:54.05 finish in his collegiate debut in the 800, grabbing the top time in the SAA and the No. 11 time in NCAA Division III.

Goss previously finished ninth at the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker in the 1000 posting a 2:33.67 and 19th in the 400 finishing in 50.98 on December 5, 2025. This recognition is Goss' first honor of his collegiate career.

Goss and the Petrels will travel next to Mill Spring, North Carolina, to compete in the Tyron Invitational on Friday, Jan. 30.
