ATLANTA- Oglethorpe University's track & field team is heading to the Southern Athletic Association Indoor Championships on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 27-28, in Danville, Kentucky, following a remarkable start to the spring track & field campaign. 

Championship Information

• Nine teams will be in participation, with Centre set to host at Champions Hall.
• Friday's action will be under way beginning at 12 p.m.
• Saturday begins at 9 a.m.
• The top three individuals from each event earn all-SAA. The champion of each event earns All-Conference first team, runners-up earn All-Conference second team, and third-place finishers earn All-Conference honorable mention.
• This will be the third year the SAA has hosted an indoor track & field championship.

Season Highlights

• Zachary Benner broke the school record in the 5000m and posted a 14:51.47 finish.
• Hannah Rhodes surpassed the school record in the 3000m with a 10:46:33 PR.
• Kirsten Rose shattered her personal best and the school record in the mile and recorded a 5:19:49 finish.
• Jordan McQueen passed the school record by recording a 13.92 meter triple jump and placing fifth at the Samford Invitational.
• Additional Men's Leaders: Zeno Goss, Philmon Laudat, Josh Barfield, Charlie Monroe
• Additional Women's Leaders: Hailey Wright, Allyssa Hearn, Amirah Ali, Keri Edwards.
• The Petrels will face Berry College, Rhodes College, Millsaps College, Maryville College, Centre College, Trinity University, Southwestern University and Sewanee.
