Patrick named assistant men’s soccer coach and director of facilities operations

ATLANTA - Mike Patrick has joined Oglethorpe's athletics staff as assistant men's soccer coach and will also serve as director of facilities operations, announced Todd Brooks, Oglethorpe's director of athletics.

"I am extremely pleased in having Mike join our athletic department," said Brooks. "He has a tremendous amount of facility management experience that will benefit our entire department. So much so, that he will be serving as the director of facilities operations along with his responsibilities associated with the men's soccer program. He will be an excellent addition."

Patrick comes to Oglethorpe after a year as sales manager for Marriott here in Atlanta and brings with him plenty of experience with collegiate sports. From 2017 to 2021, Patrick was the assistant athletic director and oversaw events and marketing at nearby Emory University. From 2015 to 2017, Patrick was the assistant athletic director at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. Before Emory and Spring Hill, Patrick was the inaugural assistant director of championships with the Southern Athletic Association from 2013 to 2015.

Patrick is no stranger to Oglethorpe either, as he was the director of soccer operations and assistant head coach from 2009 to 2012, just before Oglethorpe made the transition into the SAA. In Patrick's last year at Oglethorpe, he helped the team qualify for its first NCAA Men's Soccer National Championship tournament in the 50th-year anniversary of the soccer program.

Prior to collegiate sports, Patrick was in medical sales from 1996 to 2007.

Patrick graduated from University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts after being selected to the All-Conference and All-Region teams as a player at UWF. He also has a National Coaching "B" License and National Youth License from the United States Soccer Federation. Patrick currently resides in Dunwoody, Georgia, with his wife Beth and daughter Elena.
