ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association has released athletes of the week for the week ending January 19, with Oglethorpe's Hannah Rhodes taking the women's track distinction.

Rhodes most recently competed in the Samford Open this past Saturday, recording a new personal best in the 800 meters. Her time of 2:26 is the best in the SAA for the season so far. Rhodes also combined with Kirsten Wright, Hailey Wright and Evan Thomas to set a new school record in the 4x400m relay.

This was Rhodes' first track athlete of the week nod. The junior also recorded a successful cross country season this fall, breaking personal records there as well.

The Stormy Petrels will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Jaguar Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.
