ATLANTA – Oglethorpe men's lacrosse interim head coach Jibril Stapleton is pleased to announce the addition of Dwayne Taylor as the program's assistant coach.
Taylor is a former Stormy Petre, having played for the Petrels in 2018, his freshman year, then again for his senior season in 2025.
Most recently Taylor served as assistant coach at Pace Academy for the 2023-24 season.
Taylor graduated from Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Lithonia, Georgia, in 2014. He still holds their program record for assists. He returned to his high school in 2016 as an assistant coach for the 2017 spring season. Since then, Taylor has coached up and down the east coast, beginning at i9 Sports and serving in multiple programs assisting foreign exchange students.
"My goal is to grow the game of lacrosse by providing athletes with the tools, opportunities, and guidance they need to succeed. I'm committed to building a winning program and creating a lasting impact on my players," Taylor stated.
Taylor earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Oglethorpe earlier this spring and is currently pursuing his MBA. He also holds a teaching certificate and a barber's license.
