ATLANTA- Oglethorpe senior Keimarya Rivera closed her career at Dorough Field House with extraordinary performances against Trinity and Southwestern. Two double-doubles and an average of 23.5 points per game over the last six games helped her win her fifth Southern Athletic Association athlete of the week award this season.
Rivera recorded a double-double on Friday's senior night, helping the Petrels take down Trinity, the No. 1 ranked team in the SAA. She contributed to a late run in the fourth quarter where the Petrels scored 14 points in four minutes that sealed the win over the Tigers.
On Sunday, Rivera tallied another double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Despite trailing the first half, Rivera and the Petrels came back in an 11-7 run late to finish the game 80-65.
Rivera and the Stormy Petrels will travel to Rhodes and Millsaps this weekend to finish the slate of regular season games.
