Box Score The women's soccer team continued their winning ways improving
to 5-0 on Tuesday afternoon by earning a 3-2 victory at Spelman.
With each successive win, this group of Petrels continues to set
the bar for best start to a season in the modern era.
As they have all season long, the Petrels struck first when
freshman Katie Muller recorded the first goal of her collegiate
career in the game's 21st minute off an expertly played corner that
bent past the Spelman keeper.
After Spelman equalized in the 31st minute, freshman Clara St.
Urbain continued her scoring assault in the 37th minute on an
unassisted goal that is her fifth in five games. In the second
half, freshman Lexie Craig posted her first career goal on a nice
assist from St. Urbain in the 52nd minute to give Oglethorpe a 3-1
advantage.
Spelman fought back, however, and made it a 3-2 game in the 68th
minute. Then, as time ticked below three seconds remaining, senior
goalkeeper Sarah Nania had to push a Spelman shot over the bar to
preserve the victory.
The Petrels will look to make it 6-0 when they travel to face
LaGrange this Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
