ATLANTA- Oglethorpe women's soccer junior Delaney Hanks has been named the Southern Athletic Association offensive athlete of the week for the second time after two crucial goals on senior day.
The Stormy Petrels were tied 1-1 in the 72nd minute against Millsaps last Saturday when Hanks capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity to break the tie. Shortly after, she scored again to seal the win for the Petrels on senior day. Hanks scored her ninth and 10th goals of the season while tallying her fourth multigoal game of the season and becoming the first player in program history to score double digit goals in a season since Michelle Parks scored 13 in the 2000 season.
With her dynamic game style and elite goal scoring ability, it is no surprise that Hanks leads the SAA in goals scored, points, and game-winning goals per game.
Hanks and the Stormy Petrels will travel to Sewanee, Tennessee, to take on the Sewanee Tigers Friday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m.
