ATLANTA—Christian Hall has announced he is stepping down from his role as Oglethorpe men's lacrosse head coach, effective June 30.
Todd Brooks, Oglethorpe director of athletics, has named Jibril Stapleton interim head coach for the 2025-26 season. Stapleton has been the top assistant serving specifically as defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the last two seasons.
"I would like to thank Coach Hall for his hard work this past year on behalf of the university," Brooks said. "Although his time with us was short, he is leaving our men's lacrosse program in better shape than he inherited it. I am also pleased to announce that Coach Stapleton has agreed to step in as an interim coach for this coming year. Coach Stapleton is a wonderful man of character, and I have all the confidence in the world that he will do a great job in continuing to move our program forward."
This past season saw Hall lead the Stormy Petrels to wins over Shorter, Randolph and Warren Wilson, the last being a definitive senior-day win at home.
"It has been an incredible honor to lead the men's lacrosse program at Oglethorpe University," Hall said. "I am deeply grateful for the relationships built, the growth we experienced together, and the opportunity to be part of such a special community. I'm proud of what we accomplished, and I leave knowing the program is on strong footing for continued success. I want to thank the student-athletes, my coaching staff, and the entire athletic department for their support and trust."
