ATLANTA- Oglethorpe junior Mariah Butler earned the title of Southern Athletic Association athlete of the week after an impressive offensive showing on the road.
Butler played two games in North Carolina where she amassed nine goals and four assists.
A close game versus Methodist ended in a loss despite Butler's four goals and two assists. The next day, she led the Petrels to their first win of the season against William Peace. She led the scoring column with five of the Petrels' 20 goals, and she added two assists.
Butler set her season high goals and was one away from tying her career high.
Butler and the Petrels will return home to Oglethorpe to face Brevard College on Saturday, March 7, at 3 p.m.
