ATLANTA- Oglethorpe sophomore Sebastian Lewis has been named Southern Athletic Association defensive athlete of the week for the first time, announced the SAA on Monday.

Lewis missed the first three games of the season due to injury but returned to help bring a 1-0 victory for the Petrels on Friday. Lewis made 12 saves and faced 25 shots to defend his team's offense that broke through with the game winner in the 70th minute.

On Sunday, Lewis picked up four saves and kept Berea College off the scoreboard until a penalty kick was awarded in the 90th minute that ricocheted off the post into the goal.

This is Lewis' first athlete of the week nomination despite being named to the SAA All-Conference second team in the 2025 season.

Lewis and the Petrels will be back in action to face McMurry University on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at home.
