When Ahmad Kareem Shaheed was not involved in athletics and completing homework, he enjoyed time with friends from all parts of the globe. He had friends with roots from South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Conversations with these friends helped shape who he is today to take on life and career challenges with a global perspective.

Shaheed was considered one fo the most improved players in recent program history. He scored just 30 points and averaged just 1.2 ppg his freshman year. The following year, as a sophomore, he was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. He was named 2nd Team All-Conference in both his junior and senior season. He led the league in FG% twice and led the league in rebounding once. He ended his career in Oglethorpe's Top 10 all-time in both rebounding and FG% and is a member of the 1,000 point club.

One memorable moment from his OU days is the day he met Truett Cathy, the founder and chairman of Chick-fil-A, Inc. at their corporate headquarters in Atlanta, a trip organized by Accounting Professor Chris Benton. 

Ahmad currently works for Infiniti Motor Company in their Infiniti Motor division as Dealer Operations Manager in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His responsibility is to drive dealerships’ behavior to increase market penetration and sale effectiveness. Ahmad recently finished his MBA at the University of Maryland and he has one son, Amir.
