Oglethorpe University

Edgar “Ed” George David Sr. played football and basketball for four years. He was captain of the football team in 1922 and captain of the freshman basketball team in 1921.

David was named to The College Football All-Southern first team in 1922. He excelled in several different positions and was a key player in Oglethorpe’s SIAA title win of 1924.

David was president of his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior class. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, president of the boosters club, and business manager for the Yamacraw. David was the secretary/treasurer for the O Club from 1922-23 and the president from 1923-24. He was also an alternate for the baseball team his junior year.

David and his wife had four children.
