Robert Henry “Hank” Frieman earned a masters in education and was Valedictorian of his class, and a letterman.

Frieman’s strongest sport was football, playing all four seasons and serving as an assistant coach during spring training. He wore #42 and was noted as a standout underclassman in 1934. Freiman was also heavily involved in basketball, making all-tournament teams for four seasons straight.

He was also very involved in non-varsity sports, and was the heavyweight champion for the 1934 intramural boxing tournament. Frieman was an officer in the O Club, an editor for the student newspaper, and a member of  the Ugly Club and Phi Kappa Delta honor society. 

After a career of coaching, Frieman funded an Oglethorpe endowed scholarship which was named in his honor.
