Roy Cowart was a member of the men’s soccer team, baseball team, and freshman basketball team.

Cowart joined the men's soccer team his sophomore year, and won an appreciation trophy senior year. On the baseball team, he was a star pitcher and third baseman.

After a career of coaching high school girls' basketball teams, Cowart was also inducted to the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame on April 28, 2006. He is considered one of Georgia’s all-time winningest coaches, with a 629-211 career record.
