David Crabbe grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia with a very soccer-centric childhood. He played youth soccer at the Stone Mountain Youth Soccer Association for coaches Mark Wilson and Jason Woodall and at Clarkston High School for coaches Alex Horton and Tom Malone. However, he got the most enjoyment out of playing pickup games in the street in front of his house with his brothers, Ryan and Andrew, and the local neighborhood kids. Crabbe owes most of his love of and success in soccer to his supportive parents and brothers.

Crabbe attended Oglethorpe University starting in the fall semester of 1998, and playing soccer for coach Mike Lochstampfor. His playing career included many memorable games on the road and most certainly on home turf at Oglethorpe. He garnered some individual postseason accolades and was honored as being team captain his senior year. Crabbe most cherishes the great friends he made while at Oglethorpe, many of whom are former teammates. One of his most memorable highlights was his last college game at Oglethorpe. He scored three goals, and up to that point, it was the first time he had scored a hat trick in a competitive game.

While at Oglethorpe, Crabbe was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and pursued the engineering Dual Degree program curriculum. After the fall 2001 semester, Crabbe transferred to Auburn University where he would later meet his future wife and graduate from Auburn with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and from Oglethorpe with a Bachelor of Arts in 2004. In 2009, Crabbe became a fully licensed professional engineer in Georgia.

Currently, Crabbe and Melissa, his wife of 8 years, live in Brookhaven, GA raising their three children, Aaron (6), Gretchen (4) and Cecilia (1). He works as a civil engineer for P Marshall & Associates in Roswell, GA. Crabbe enjoys family time, laughing and a good beer.
