Samuel “Sam” Jefferson Clinkscales was a third baseman.

Clinkscales was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity.

After graduation, Clinkscales served as a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army/Airforce during World War II.  He and his wife Jean had four children and five grandchildren. Clinkscales passed away at age 83 on May 23rd, 2000.
