Oglethorpe University

The 1958-59 Men’s Basketball team, led by legendary Coach Garland Pinholster, put Oglethorpe basketball on the map. 

Nicknamed the winningest team in Georgia, the Stormy Petrels recorded 21 wins and only one loss that season. They brought home the Georgia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and recorded the best defensive average in the NAIA. Coach Pinholster made basketball history with his creation of the wheel offense.
