Jay Dee Dye was a star on the men’s basketball team and was very involved in Oglethorpe athletics.

Dye was a center on the 1960 team that claimed a GIAC championship title, and the famed 1958-59 team. He was a member of the interactivity committee and honor court, as well as intramural director and coach of the freshman basketball team.
