Hall of Fame
Robert was born and raised in Chagrin Falls, OH, where he first picked up a golf club at age ten.   He grew up playing in junior golf tournaments all over Northeast Ohio, leading up to his four years of varsity golf at Kenston High School. Coach Jim Owen recruited Robert following graduation and he enrolled at Oglethorpe that August.Â
Robert was a four-year starter as a member of the Petrel’s golf team, playing in every tournament during his career. As a freshman playing in his first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) championship, Robert helped guide the Petrels to the team championship with his third place finish and First Team All Conference honors.  In his senior year, Robert helped the Petrels win their fourth straight conference championship, finishing in third place, giving the Petrels the top four individual scores. With two first team and one second team all conference selections; Robert was selected to the SCAC 15th anniversary all conference golf team. Throughout his entire four years at Oglethorpe, Robert was known for his accuracy off the tee, twice leading all of Division III in fairway accuracy.   Â
After Oglethorpe, Robert earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Goizueta Business School at Emory University in 2011. Since then, he has worked at Network Communications Inc. as the Business Intelligence Lead. In 2009, Robert married fellow Petrel, Anna Rhett Cobb, a four year member of the soccer team. Anna Rhett has spent the last 9 years working for Turner Broadcasting and is now a Planning Producer for HLN. They currently live in Roswell, with their three dogs.
Robert’s time at Oglethorpe provided him with great memories and lasting friendships on and off the course. Robert would like to thank his parents, Barb and Sam Miller, for their unwavering support, travelling all over the country to watch his tournaments. He also thanks his coaches Jim Owen, Mike Deckert, and Robert Fink for their support and guidance through his four years at Oglethorpe.
