John “Chip” Evans IV was a star pitcher and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

In his senior season Evans led the Petrels to a 25-13 record and recorded a 3.2 ERA; the best on the team. Evans holds the third highest ERA in program history at 3.95. He also holds one of the highest career strikeouts at 172. In 1994 he recorded the second highest number of strikeouts for a single season with 72. He pitched 7 complete games, three of those being shutouts. 
In 1994 he was an All-SCAC honorable mentioned, then was named to the All-SCAC team in 1995. 

Evans has spent his entire professional career as a graphic designer and now owns his own company, Evans Studio.
