Tommy Gambino was a star second-basemen who will forever hold a place in the Oglethorpe record books.

Gambino recorded the best batting average in the 1994 season, the highest number of home-runs and hits for 1995, and the team high for doubles from 1993-1995. He was named to the All-SCAC teams in 1993, 1994, and 1995. Gambino was a two-time MVP and later named to the SCAC 15th Anniversary team. He finished his career with 98 runs, 37 doubles, 99 RBIs, and a .328 batting average.

Since 1999, Gambino has been a coach at Sachem North High School, his alma mater in New York. He began as an assistant coach with the baseball team, then was promoted to head coach in 2005. His team earned a Suffolk County title in 2011. He is also an assistant coach to the football team.
