Kerensa Wing (nee Shoemake) majored in History and a minor in Secondary Education and sported a 3.97 GPA.
She served as the Secretary of the prestigious ODK honor society, Vice-President of Phi Alpha Theta, history honorary, and a member of Alpha Chi, the highest Academic honorary.
As a senior, Wing averaged 4.8 kills per game, ranking fourth in the nation and earning first-team All-South honors. Although her powerful leaping spikes won the opposition's attention, her teamwork, serving 88%, passing 94%, and digging 851 balls during her four-year career, won 95 out of 121 matches for the team. She had never played volleyball before coming to OU.

Wing received a Masters of Education in Social Science Teacher Education from Georgia State University in 1996 and, in 2002, specialized in School Leadership at Lincoln Memorial University.

Wing currently works as an Education Consultant at the Georgia Association of Education Leaders. She was named the 2020 National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and was featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) for her award. She is a Gwinnett County School District’s 2008 Quality-Plus Leadership Academy Aspiring Principal Program graduate and a finalist for the Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year in 2002.
