John “Foxy” Summerville Knox V was an Atlanta native and true Stormy Petrel.

Knox was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Boy’s High Club. The Kappa Alphas would meet at his mother's house just down Peachtree Road in Buckhead, and continued to do so into the 1940s.

Knox had eight siblings and passed on the family name to his son.
