Oglethorpe University

Hoke Smith Bell was a three-year varsity football player and four-year varsity track athlete. He also participated in freshman football and basketball, and was a trainer for spring football his senior year. Bell graduated with a bachelor's degree in commerce.  
 

Bell was also a member of the Blue Key National Honor Society and Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He received All-SIAA honors his senior year after serving as a key player in Oglethorpe’s victory over the University of Georgia and acting as a leader in several other games from 1927 to 1929.  

After graduation, Bell continued to coach the freshman football team.
