John “Jawn” Will Crouch managed the baseball team for four years and served as a reserve halfback for the football team. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in commerce.

Crouch was also a member of the O Club and served as an assistant to the dean.

Today, Oglethorpe annually awards the Estelle Anderson Crouch Endowed Scholarship, which Crouch started in memory of his wife. Mrs. Crouch passed away in 1960, and their son John Thomas Crouch graduated from Oglethorpe in 1965. Mr. Crouch also created and sponsored the Katherine Shepard Crouch scholarship.
