Taylor Urbanski started at Oglethorpe in the Fall of 2004 primarily looking to play college golf, not realizing how great of an education and college experience he would also obtain.  While Taylor was fortunate to enjoy a successful golf career, he also was able to excel in the classroom which launched the start of a great career.

Urbanski graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting, earning Deans List in 5 semesters.  While at Oglethorpe, he was a brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and held positions such Vice President, Pledge Educator, and Risk Manager. He also was a member of the Accounting Society, including a stint as President.

Urbanski played in every regular season tournament for 4 straight years.  These years included six individual tournament wins and participation in 4 straight NCAA championships, including 2006 where the golf team earned Oglethorpe its 1st NCAA championship trophy in any sport.  Taylor earned four 1st Team All-Conference honors including Conference Player of the Year in 2008, 1st Team All-American in 2007, two Academic All-American honors, and was named the OU Athlete of the Year in 2008.  Additionally, he always considered his tenure as Captain of the golf team as one of his most rewarding responsibilities and one of his greatest highlights is captaining the team to earn its first ever Division III “#1 team in the nation” ranking. The experiences he gained helped prepare him for the world outside of college and golf.

After graduating from Oglethorpe, Urbanski began working in the Atlanta Audit Practice of Deloitte.  While at Deloitte, he earned his CPA license and developed critical skills and professional connections which helped him to land the role of Controller with one of his clients, The Paradies Shops, in Vinings, GA.  From there, Taylor began working for U.S. Security Associates in Roswell, GA as its Chief Accounting Officer. U.S. Security was recently sold to its largest competitor and Taylor is currently helping the two companies integrate all aspects of business operations.

Taylor married Katey Follett in 2015 and their daughter Eliza was born in May of 2017. The family currently resides in Roswell, Ga.
