Oglethorpe University

Edward O. “Rabbi” Miles was heavily involved in all aspects of Oglethorpe campus life, and spread his love of Oglethorpe, journalism, and athletics in Atlanta. 

Miles was president of his freshman and sophomore class, vice president of the lord’s club, 1925 student body treasurer, as well as a member of the tech high club and student-faculty committee. He also organized the Tri Mu Junior Bible class in 1925. Most notably, Miles was a correspondent with the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Atlanta Georgian, as well as the Sports editor for the Yamacraw yearbooks and Petrel newspaper.  

Miles went on to have a succesful career as a sports writer for the AJC, writing many golf pieces. He worked with the paper until the late 1980's.
