Henry Clay Parrish played five season of football and three season of baseball in the early days of Oglethorpe athletics. 
 
Parrish was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and was captain of the 1925 football team. On the diamond he played the outfield.  
His 1925 football team won the SIAA championship title, as well as the 1924 baseball team. 
 
After Oglethorpe Parrish played six seasons of minor league baseball across several southern teams including Columbus, Greensboro, Durham, and Montgomery. He played three seasons at the C level, three season at B level, and one season at an A level team. From 1926-1931 he recorded over one thousand at-bats, 127 homeruns, 663 hits, and as high as a .372 batting average. After retirement, Parrish managed Joe Cotton’s Drive-In Restaurant.  
 
Henry was born January 28th, 1902 in Oconee County, GA to Henry and Safronia and was named after his grandfather. He married Johnnie Merle Redd, and they had no children. He passed away on March 3rd, 1975.
