Oglethorpe University

Sami Bashlor was a member of Oglethorpe’s volleyball team in 1990 and 1991, during which the school transitioned into the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Although Bashlor only played for two seasons, she started the SCAC era off strong.  

In her junior year, Bashlor was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year and added to the Phoenix Cup All-Tournament team. Senior year she was named co-MVP and made a second appearance on the Phoenix Cup team.  

At the end of her Oglethorpe career, Bashlor had moved into the number two spot on the school’s all-time kill list and all-time blocks. In her senior season, Bashlor finished third in the nation for kills per game with a 4.6 average.
