Oglethorpe University

Stephen Summerow received his undergraduate degree from Oglethorpe University, where he completed a dual major course of study in Biology and Psychology. He then completed his Doctorate of Optometry at Nova-Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
 
In 2016, Dr. Summerow became the Director of Dry Eye Services at Eyesight Associates.
He has been married to Joanna Gittens-Summerow for 15 years and the couple has two sons, Stephen Daniel and Jonathan. The couple also raised Dr. Summerow’s nephew, Xeryus Gittens.
 
He has also served as the Pastor of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia, for 7 years. He previously pastored Oldfield Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia, for 7 ½ years.
