Andrew "Tulo" Tulowitzky is an iconic member of Oglethorpe basketball history.
Tulowitzky came to Oglethorpe University from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Ga . In his four seasons as a starter the team posted a 77 - 36 record. He scored 1 , 640 career points and made 304 3 - pointers. After his senior season he was named County Player of the Year, Region 4 - AAAA Player of the Year, and was named All-State.
Tulowitzky was a four-year starter for Oglethorpe as well, and ranks in the top five in school history for several statistical categories. He ranks 3rd all time in free throw percentage at 85.8%, 5th in three point percentage at 43.8 %, and 5th in three pointers made. Tulowitzky still ranks in the top 10 at Oglethorpe in both steals and assists.
On January 2nd , 2007, Andrew set a single game school and SCAC Conference record for field goal percentage and 3 point field goal percentage by going a perfect 11 - 11 from the field and 7-7 from three point territory. Also in his senior season, Tulowitzky had a career high of 38 points at Southwestern University in an 80 - 75 come from behind victory. Andrew was named SCAC Player of the Week four times during his career, once as a Sophomore, once as a Junior and twice his Senior season. Andrew made Academic All Conference as a Junior and Senior. He was also named to the D3 Hoops Team of the Week his Senior season. Tulowitzky was named First Team All - SCAC as a Senior and finished his career with 1,149 points and 188 three pointers made.
Tulowitzky served five years as an assistant coach under Oglethorpe's Phil Ponder, then two years as an assistant at Gardner-Webb. Today he is the Assistant Athletic Director and Boy's Basketball Head Coach at The Galloway School; a small private school located in the Chastain Park area of Atlanta.Â
