Trent was born in Flemington, NJ and was introduced to golf by his entire family from day one. Playing and winning various junior golf tournaments, including Atlanta Junior Golf Player of the Year in 2000, and playing four years of varsity golf at Clarke Central HS solidified Trent’s chance to play golf at Oglethorpe University.

Trent was a four year starter on an Oglethorpe University golf team that included three other Oglethorpe University Hall of Fame members. Oglethorpe University competed in the DIII National Golf Championship in each of Trent’s four years for the first time in Oglethorpe Golf history. Oglethorpe also won three of its four straight SCAC championships in Trent’s first three years. During Trent’s tenure, Oglethorpe University won numerous additional national attended tournaments.

Individual success for Trent was a byproduct of competition between teammates, as they competed for victory in each event they entered. Trent won five individual tournaments in his four years at Oglethorpe University , including back - to - back SCAC championships in 2003 and 2004. His winning total of 141 in 2003 broke a Conference record that had stood since 1964. In addition to his five victories, Trent amassed seven runner - up finishes and a total of 17 top 5 finishes in his four years at Oglethorpe. Trent was a two time member of the NCAA All - American team, and was also a two ti me NCAA Academic All - American. Trent’s Oglethorpe golf career ended as he was presented with the Jack Nicklaus Award as the National Player of the Year after his 3 rd place finish in the 2004 DIII National Golf Championship.

Trent currently works as the Syncade Logistics Team Leader for Emerson Process Management in supporting their Manufacturing Execution Systems software. He is pursuing his MBA degree from the University of South Florida, with an expected graduation date of August 2014. Trent was marri ed to fellow Oglethorpe alum Bethann Northup ‘02 in November 2013. They currently reside in Bradenton, FL.

Trent’s time at Oglethorpe University provided him with relationships, friendships, and memories that will last his lifetime. On the golf course, t eammates, family of teammates, and coaches provided an experience that would not have been replicated anywhere else. Trent would like to thank all these people and his family for making this award possible.
