The Oglethorpe University Hall of Fame welcomes a most deserving team into the Hall: the 1993-94 Men's Basketball Team. This outstanding crew won the school's first SCAC basketball, as well as the University's first overall Conference Championship after the transition to NCAA Division III. The 93-94 team ran off eleven consecutive wins to start conference play en route to a 20-6 overall and 12-2 SCAC league play record. The eleventh win was a wild overtime 72-71 win over Trinity University (TX) featuring the famous Brian Davis last-second bank shot 3-pointer to win the game as time expired. A week later they would clinch the championship with an 87-76 win at Millsaps College.

Led by four ALL-CONFERENCE standouts including Brian Davis, Cornell Longino, Ryan Vickers, and Andy Schutt, and major contributors Jack Stephens, Nathan Briesemeister, Tripp Pierson, Bryon Letourneau, and Ryan Strong. Davis led the league in Field Goal % and was fourth in scoring at 17.1 ppg. earned the first SCAC Player of the Year honor in Oglethorpe school history. The team led the nation in TEAM FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE that magical season.

Hall of Fame Coach Jack Berkshire was named SCAC Conference Coach of the Year and went on to be named to the Naismith Awards Georgia State College Coach of the Year.
